Who is Semone Bannister?
My name is Semone Bannister and I am 29 years of age. I am a mother of a 19 month old son. I attained an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts and a Bachelors in Hotel Management. I am also certified in Event Planning and Designing. I love to plan and design all types of events. This passion started from a young age. I started planning all family functions and this love grew over the years but it really fell into play after the rebirth of the “Miss CHTM Pageant 2014”.
I am dedicated and put my heart into everything I do. Most persons think I am shy at first until they get to know me. But most of all I am a lover of food and travel.
What does a typical day for you entail?
A typical day for me includes a full time job, motherhood responsibilities and running a growing event company.
How do you remain focused?
I remain focused by setting deadlines that must be met and making sure I meet them before the set date.
What is your most exciting/memorable accomplishment to date?
Starting my Event Planning and designing business is my most exciting accomplishment thus far.
How did you decide what business to start?
I never really decided. It was always in me from before I can even remember. This is all I ever wanted to do.
What is one common myth about entrepreneurship that you would like to clarify?
Entrepreneurs are in it for the money!
This myth surely isn’t true. I plan and design events because I love to; it makes me happy but I also have independence.
What advice would you give a budding entrepreneur?
- Just take 1 day at a time.
- Never ever give up!
- As hard as it may seem, try something and it will work its way out!
